Frequently Asked Questions

  • When is the best time to have a 3D/4D Ultrasound?

    • That depends on what you are looking to see. Many mothers like coming in twice, early on, 14-26 weeks, when they can see the baby as a whole or to determine gender, and then again at 25-34 weeks to see a more detailed face. Between 28-32 weeks, your baby develops more fat and gets a more defined face. After 34 weeks, it becomes more and more difficult to obtain good pictures since the baby is running out of room.

  • What is the difference between Sneak-A-Peek 3D Ultrasound and a Medical Ultrasound?

    • We recommend visiting with your doctor or a medical professional before your visit with us. Medical ultrasounds are done for the purpose of assessing you and your baby’s health needs. Medical ultrasounds are typically covered by insurance and are typically only 2D scans. Please contact your medical professional for further info.

    • We are an elective ultrasound company. Our goal and purpose is to provide a memorable bonding experience between mother, father, and family with their expecting baby. We also attempt to capture the best pictures that will be added to all the other memories you will create with your child for the rest of their life. We are a non-medical facility and can’t asses you or your baby’s health concerns in any way.

  • Do I need to make an Appointment?

    • Yes, our scheduling is done by appointment only. It is difficult but not impossible to get same day appointments. We recommend scheduling your appointment at least a couple of days in advance.

  • Do I need a full bladder for my appointment?

    • No. Come as you are and don’t worry about drinking lots of water before your visit. We recommend being well hydrated throughout your pregnancy.

  • How many people can come with me to my appointment?

    • We have seating for 6 to 9 depending upon how close your friends and family want to sit next to each other. If you have more people then 10 please call for more info. (970)361-3283

  • Are children welcome?

    • Absolutely yes!

  • What is the difference between 3D, 4D, and HD Ultrasounds?

    • A probe is placed on the body emitting sound waves into the body. It then listens for a return echo and generates an image.

    • 2D Flat, two dimensional, black and white pictures of your baby.

    • 3D An advanced method which captures a true, three-dimensional image of your baby, allowing you to see facial features and defined formation.

    • 4D is the same as 3D with the fourth dimension being the movement of the image.

    • HD Ultrasounds are the new and improved 3D/4D ultrasounds. Machines with this technology can create the most up to date life like images of your baby.

  • Is 3D and HD Ultrasound Safe?

    • Ultrasounds have been done for over 40 years and extensive studies have found that it has not been shown to cause any harm to the mother or baby. Ultrasound Scanning of pregnancies are now normal throughout the US. 2D,3D, 4D, and HD all use the same type and intensity of ultrasound.

    • We use a non-invasive ultrasound probe, which is used on the out side of the body.

  • Will my ultrasound be covered under my insurance?

    • No.

  • Am I guaranteed to get good pictures?

    • Most of the time we are able to please our customers with the pictures we are able to capture. In the event that we are not able to get good pictures we will schedule one other return visit for free. There are many factors that can contribute to not getting that perfect picture, some of which include: the position of the baby, the matter blocking the image, and the amount of amniotic fluid.

Having children is the most amazing blessing we have received in this live. This has created in us a passion to share with others the opportunity to bond with the special new family member. We have worked with and been trained by one of the largest elective ultrasound training companies in the US (Ultrasound Trainers).
